CEEISA Annual Conference 2026 in Sarajevo Explored “Contesting Imperialism(s)”
The 2026 CEEISA Annual Conference, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 17–19 June 2026, was hosted by the University of Sarajevo and International Burch University. The conference brought together hundreds of scholars, researchers, and practitioners from across Europe and beyond to explore this year’s theme, “Contesting Imperialism(s).” The conference was officially opened by our colleague Kateřina Kočí, CEEISA President pro tempore, together with the programme chairs Aida Hozić and Dženeta Karabegović. Throughout the conference, attendees participated in more than 50 panels, roundtables, book talks, and special sessions, alongside keynote lectures by Siniša Malešević and Jasmina Husanović. Early-career researchers were actively involved through the CEEISA Young Scholars Initiative (CYSI), highlighting the association’s commitment to supporting the next generation of International Relations scholars.
Beyond the academic programme, participants also experienced Sarajevo’s unique history and culture through a documentary screening, a guided city tour, and a reception at the iconic Vijećnica (City Hall).
